Travel and Imagination
Travel and Imagination!
~ 🤍 Mridini April - 08 - 2019
I imagine climbing up steps as old as time, to a magical tree, just as fabulous, bursting with
colour and creatures of all kinds, the Faraway Tree. I’d explore the tree with Joe, Fran and
Beth, have tea with Mr. Watzisname, go for walks with the Saucepan Man and watch Dame
Snap teach the naughty pixies. What a great vacation that would be!
Now let’s come back to reality; even though I can’t visit the faraway tree, I still want to take
a crazy adventure when I travel. Wandering through an old cave filled with stalactites or
investigating ancient cities like Atlantis are just my kind of thing. I want to let my soul roam
freely enjoying every moment. But there’s also nothing I like more than to spend the
vacation with my family and friends.
Travelling has changed me in many interesting ways, visiting so many places has given me a
different perspective of how the world works. Now I know that certain technologies and
developments exist outside India, how governments function in different places and their
architecture, history and culture.
Travelling has also helped boost my creativity as I explore new places and has also helped in
developing curiosity. Knowing about foreign countries helps me realise the various events
happening around the world. It’s also made me think in the feet of people living other
places and problems they may or may not face. Apart from this, I enjoy myself at famous
tourist monuments, ancient archaeological digs and of course, the theme parks!
I know that there’s still a lot left on earth to explore, but I can’t help wondering how
it would be like to visit outer space. Though it’s a dangerous visit, I’m certain that with all
the necessary safety precautions taken, it can be more enjoyable than I think. I would be
honoured if I could just put a step on the moon or at least get a glimpse of mars.
Sometimes my mind races from our time zone and back into the past. Having only learnt
about the past, I’d love to have a look at the dinosaurs for myself, if only I could time
travel… I would also go back in time to visit the magical moment I was born, the time when
I began my first adventure in exploring the world around me.
Travelling has always been something I was interested in and I always will, learning new
things as I go along, sharing it with the people around me.
